Terms.

These terms apply when you use pxld.design or hire pxld ("we", "us") to design and build a website. Paying a deposit or subscribing to a care plan means you agree to them. If a signed proposal says something different, the proposal wins for that project.

Services

We design and build websites in three packages (Launch, Growth and Signature) and look after them through monthly care plans (Essential, Standard and Pro). What each includes is listed on the pricing page, which forms part of these terms. Anything not listed there is new scope, and we'll quote it before doing it.

Every package includes the copy (we write it) and go-live: we connect your domain (or help you get one), deploy, and either hand the site to your systems or manage it on a care plan. Signature also includes a 90-day post-launch tune-up covering speed, SEO and small conversion tweaks.

Demos and mock-ups

The demo call and any mock-up we show you are free. You're under no obligation to buy. Mock-ups remain our property until you buy a package that includes that design.

Payment

You choose how to pay for a build:

• In full, up front, with 10% off: Launch $1,080, Growth $2,520, Signature $4,950.
• Launch and Growth in two parts: 50% to start, 50% on approval, before the site goes live.
• Signature in three parts: 50% to start, 25% at design approval (when you sign off on the staging link), and 25% when the site is ready to launch.
• Work starts when the first payment clears. Balances are invoiced at each milestone and are due within 7 days. The site goes live after the last payment.
• Balances are invoiced through Stripe. Payments are made by card or Apple Pay. Add-ons and extra scope are quoted in writing before work starts.

Refunds

Payments are fully refundable before design work begins. After that, the first payment is non-refundable. If you paid in full, any portion for work not yet delivered is refunded if we cancel or can't deliver. If you cancel a project partway through, you pay for the stage you're in; we don't bill stages we haven't started.

Your content and timelines

Timelines (Launch 7 business days, Growth 14, Signature 21-28) start at kickoff, once we have your content: text, photos, logos and any logins we need. If content or feedback is delayed, the timeline moves by the same amount. If a project is paused by you for more than 60 days, we may close it and invoice for the work done.

Revisions

• Launch: 2 rounds of up to 10 itemized changes each.
• Growth: 3 rounds of up to 15 changes each.
• Signature: unlimited rounds within the project timeline, consolidated per round, with a 2-business-day turnaround.

A revision changes something already in scope. New pages, features, integrations or a change of direction after design approval are new scope. Send one consolidated list per round. Turnaround on Launch and Growth is 2-3 business days per round, and extra rounds on those packages are $150 each.

Ownership

Once we receive your final payment, you own the finished website: its design, the code we wrote for it, and your content. Until then, it remains ours. Third-party pieces (fonts, plugins, stock images, platforms like Stripe or Cal.com) stay under their own licenses, and we'll tell you about any that need a paid license in your name.

We may show your site in our portfolio and in our marketing. If you'd rather we didn't, tell us in writing and we'll leave it out.

Care plans

• Care plans bill monthly through Stripe. There's no contract. Cancel anytime from the customer portal or the link in any invoice, and the plan ends at the close of the billing period you've paid for.
• Free months included with a package start at go-live.
• Monthly content edits: Essential 2 (up to 45 minutes total), Standard 5 (up to 2 hours total), Pro unlimited small edits (fair use, up to 5 hours). Menu, price, hours and service updates are made within 48 hours, 24 hours or the same day respectively.
• Edit allowances reset each month and don't roll over. "Small edits" means text, images, hours, menu, price or service changes, and adding a section using the existing design. New pages and features are quoted.
• If you cancel, or choose no plan, we do a full hand-off to your systems, or keep hosting the site for $25/mo with no edits included.

Hosting and availability

We aim to keep hosted sites online at all times and monitor them around the clock, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is done at low-traffic times where possible.

Limitation of liability

We build carefully and test before launch. Still, to the extent the law allows: we provide our services "as is"; we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost business; and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.

Your responsibilities

You confirm you have the right to use the content you give us, and that your site's content and use comply with the law. You're responsible for keeping your domain registration current unless we manage it for you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California.

Changes

We may update these terms. Changes don't affect projects already underway, which stay on the terms in place when you paid the deposit.
